The Republicans have opened up a monstrous can of ugly by bringing the John Birchers and wingnuttery into their coalition to replace the centrists and the Hispanics who they have alienated. Will it be enough? What will the Teaparty radicals do if their slate of candidates goes down to defeat.

Well, first they will blame Acorn or some maliceful misfunciton in the voting system.
Then what?

but the fact that unity events are not happening is a huge sign that the civil war is deep, very deep.

Now if the dems should, against all historic trends, even win seats... people like Angle and her second amendment remedies come to mind, and should give people pause.
