Bristol Palin is a cast member on ABC's Dancing with the Stars
The new season starts September 12th. I found it interesting that the interviewer asked her if her mother would be in the ballroom for her performances.

Maybe I am just old and cynical, but this is the "redemption edit" of all time. After all, if Sarah can be seen fussing over her daughter, "protecting" her from those big mean voters, etcetera, she's getting all kinds of no-cost media exposure.

Is this legal? After all, when does the campaign for 2012 officially start?

1. Thank goodness Margaret Cho is in the cast too.
I have a reason to watch :)

14. I'm wondering if there's going to be a confrontation between
Palin and Cho. After all, Cho's been fairly open about her dislike for Sarah Palin.

I enjoy visiting Television Without Pity. One of the mods there tried to post some kind of manifesto re: discussions about Bristol Palin are to be about HER, not about her mother. I'm sure that edict's being sorely tested this morning.

Again: Is this campaigning for her mother? Is it legal?

2. I admit it, I'm into ballroom dancing. My wife got me into it and I love it.
Laugh, snicker and point all you want, I don't care.

4. It is fun to watch. I've never done it, but enjoy it anyway. It is, to me,
an enjoyment similar to listening to a really good public speaker. I may not agree with everything he/she says, but I enjoy listening to it.

6. I was surprised to find out how physical it is.
Plus, it beats being a wall flower. It makes going out much more fun. I recommend dance lessons to everyone.

15. I would really enjoy taking some classes
I started out watching ballroom dancing competitions on PBS years ago. "DWTS" is cheesy, but fun. I always enjoy watching someone who has no dancing experience gain confidence week by week.

Good for you, and I hope you're having a great time tripping the light fantastic with Mrs. Arctic Dave!

3. They need to ask if she's going to sleep with her dance partner
Her "Hussies For Abstinence" stand is laughable

5. If the kid stays out of politics, it's fine with me. However
will Mama Grizzly be there as a stage mom? That would be over the top but maybe unintentionally very funny.

9. If anything it makes any complaints about "celebrity" by Palin come off as hypocritical
With Sarah's constant whoring of her books/Alaska TV show and her associating with Kate Gosselin plus Bristol's booking on DWTS it makes any snarky comments she may make about "celebrities" pretty mute at this point.

12. Like Mother Like Daughter
Bristol is only interested in fame, fortune and making a quick buck. Yes Dancing with the Stars is a physically demanding job but it is not going to get her anywhere in the long run. It won't give her beneficial life skills.

She should be focusing on taking care of her son and obtaining an education to obtain more permanent gainful employment. With her background, she does not have either the education or experience to be taken seriously.

Someone needs to tell her that her 15 minutes of fame are over.
