Note to Democrats in Congress: Do not give in - NO COMPROMISE

I am sick and fucking tired of hearing people (mostly conservatives) say that we are going to have to compromise if we are going to get anything done, primarily the Iraq spending bill. In this case, however, "compromise" means caving in to what * wants, and giving him $$$ and authority to continue this illegal war, and to continue to kill American soldiers and countless Iraqi citizens. "Compromise" means giving legitimacy to our terror tactics in Iraq - and make no mistake, what we are doing right now in Iraq is nothing short of terror. What else do you call kicking in doors and rounding up Iraqi men, women, and children without any due process whatsoever? What else do you call our "interrogation" techniques, so proudly defended by the likes of Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, and Gonzalez?

Do NOT give in. Not on this issue. I would prefer that we stop funding the war altogether, and start bringing the troops home NOW. However, at a bare minimum, we should insist on a firm deadline for leaving Iraq - the sooner the better, and before this year is over. We have done everything we can. What is the purpose of staying in Iraq indefinitely? The only thing that our presence is doing is causing more hatred towards us, and swelling the ranks of the "enemy" - who are merely defending their OWN soil, their OWN families.
