If the pundits are right next year the Government will come to a halt |

If the Republicans are successful in taking not control but many more seats in both the House and the Senate "The Party of No" will either bring Government to its knees with no legislation at all making it through or something very close to it.
Think about the consequences of that. While it may be a Republican dream I personally do not relish living in a country without enforceable or enforced regulation, an abandoned transportation system (virtually every inch of which is publicly owned), and education left to the dogs or born-again schools for those who can afford it.

1. The pundits don't know squat. |

And even if it does happen, we saw how well that worked out for Newt Gingrich & co.

We can't let that happen. That's why we need everyone to vote and vote for democratic or progressive candidates. I know things haven't been as great as we hoped but letting republicans make gains will only let the party of No continue to stand in the way of any possible progress.

3. Sadly, if the Republicans gain control |

of Congress, what you'll see is the Democrats going along and passing whatever the Republicans want passed.
I really, really wish Obama and all the Democratic leadership would call out the Repubs on their constant threat of filibuster. Let them do it, and announce every single day why things aren't moving forward. Hold those bastards RESPONSIBLE for what they do.
