Building a mosque near Ground Zero is like...
I've heard alot of analogies for this - church in Oklahoma City, Buddhist temple by Pearl Harbor, rapist moving next door to a victim, etc. But I think I figured out an accurate analogy for it:

It's like building a Korean restaurant across the street from Virginia Tech

In my opinion, the people who are offended by the mosque are people who think all Muslims are terrorists, and that all 1.5 billion of them are responsible for 9/11. Likewise, anyone who would be offended by a Korean restaurant by VT probably thinks that because of the actions of 1 person, all Koreans are evil.

Maybe not the best analogy, but I think it fits

7. All these years and no visits by a US President.

HIROSHIMA, Japan — The site of the world's worst atomic bomb attack echoed with choirs of schoolchildren and the solemn ringing of bells Friday as Hiroshima marked its biggest memorial yet and the first to be attended by the U.S. and other major nuclear powers.

Washington's decision to send U.S. Ambassador John Roos to the 65th anniversary of the bombing was seen by many as potentially paving the way for President Barack Obama to visit Hiroshima – which would be unprecedented for a sitting U.S. leader.

8. That is not a very good analogy because Korean is a race and Muslim is a person who holds a certain
opinion.

Being a race and holding an opinion are two different things.
