President Obama, why isn't someone like me on the Social Security Commission... |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-01-10 05:21 AM by WCGreen
Everyone on that board is never going to want in their golden years, none of them will ever have to worry what they will do if the money runs out...
And yet you have entrusted these elite folks, these folks so far separated from the reality of everyday life that they can not fathom how important that the safety net that Social Security provides is to their future.
How did this happen?
People, well elitists, I wouldn't dare call them by something so plebeian as people, who can't understand the importance of Social Security should be in charge of determining that programs future?
Sounds ridiculous to me as well.
Perhaps if you would put me on some Blue Ribbon tax commission charged with how I would tax the wealthiest of the wealthiest that might even things out. But we all know that would never happen.
So why is this happening now?
These people who took what was left to them by the greatest generation and turned it all to crap in less than 30 years are entrusted with the countries future?
You know there is an old saying that the true definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.
President Obama, this Social Security commission is simply insane.

"I think we should be honest in presenting our ideas in terms of how we’re going to do that and not just say that we’re going to form a commission and try to solve the problem some other way." http://www.ontheissues.org/Archive/2008_Dems_Philly_Social_Security.htm

5. Because as someone who might actually need Social Security for survival.. |
|
You have an inherent conflict of interest..
Unlike the totally disinterested and conflict of interest free plutocrats who are on the Catfood Commission.

10. Just keep repeating to yourself, "there is no class system in the US". |
|
and everything will be just fine.
We follow the yellow brick road while listening to the great oz and stone the people who tell us that there is a man behind the curtain.
those in power are so removed from reality, that even if their savings, salaries and investments were cut in half, they still would be able to buy and sell us all.
