Obama doesn't want to offend his 3 Republican voters out there (somewhere in Iowa maybe) who still support him.

26. Well, he had to say something, didn't he? That's probably the only way |
|
he would have gotten the RWer's to listen to anything he said. If he had said anything unflattering about Bush, many people would have turned him off right then and there. I'm not sure if it made anyone look at Obama (or Bush either, for that matter) any more favorably, but it's just politics and doesn't necessarily convey his actual feelings.

33. No offense, Granny, but that is no defense at all |
|
What you are saying is that he is both lying and bearing false witness, just for 'politics' when the President claims to be such a devoted Christian that he simply can not stand the thought of some minorities having rights equal to others. So when you tell me all sweet like that you think he's just lying when he speaks of the glories of Bush, what do you think about his anti equality stance, based on a faith that forbids lying with 10 times the vigor spent on Obama's favored focus, how awful gay people are in the eyes of his Liar God. Hypocrisy, it is not a defense. You say he will lie, bear false witness then try to prove his faith by attacking gay people?

43. I'm not defending the statement, nor do I agree with it. He was playing |
|
politics, because he is a politician. I've realized that even before he won the election.
Like you, I have been very disappointed with some of the things he has done since gaining office. His stance on gay right has been one of those things. For someone who said he would be a fierce advocate for gay rights, his actions have certainly not matched his words.
This is pretty much what I expect from politicians. They say what they need to to get your vote and then, sometimes, do something much different once they are in office.

|
Bush sent our troops to war without adequate protection. He sent them to die based on lies, and he knew it at the time. Why is that not being a traitor?
Bush tortured people and spied on American citizens. Why does that not make Bush a treasonous war criminal?
And now Barack Obama, the guy who promised us change, is patting George Bush on the back and telling him "heck of a job, Georgie." :puke:
This is not the kind of change I voted for.

39. This is not the Obama I voted for in 2008. This is not a mistake I will make twice. |
|
First it was Rahmbo calling us all "retards".
Then they kowtowed to Glenn Beck and BriteFART by firing good people like Van Jones and Shirley Sherrod.
Then Gibbs says we all need to be drug tested, etc.
All of this happens without any kind of retribution to those responsible. One could argue that none of these actions/statements can be directly pinned on Obama himself... but
Now the man himself praises George W Bush (the W stands for Worthless) and basically makes nice with the guy who started the Iraq war. Calls him up for a friendly conversation on the telephone. Palling around with war criminals. Jeeeeeesus Christ on a cracker.
All because 1/2 term AK Gov. Sarah Failin' goes on fucking twitter (fucking twitter!!11!!) with
"Credit due GW,McCain,troops"
Why is Obama making nice with these assholes? They didn't campaign for him, raise money for him, or vote for him, and they will oppose him no matter what he does. I've had about enough of it to the point where I will vote for Kucinich, Franken, Grayson, Weiner, Nader, Jello Biafra, or any other left-progressive-green party-3rd party candidate on the ballot, and if there isn't one on the ballot I will write one in.
Whats the point of having liberals in office if they are going to waffle on every single fucking issue and let the GOOP and the corporations have their way? I really think "speaker Boehner" would be about the same as having the DLC in control of congress.

Obama has always taken a bi-partisan approach and has always been somebody who trys to unite and not divide. I'm sure you will join with those who will help give the White House to the GOP in 2012 if you're not going to vote for Obama--just like we got GWB due to the nuts who thought there was no differnce between him and Gore.

"bi-partisanship," and "taking orders from the GOOP and their talking heads".
Lately it seems like when any far right wingnut with a blog or a twitter account mis-spells "jump" and the President says "How high?".

50. He's not trying to unite Democrats, he's trying to splinter off the left. |
|
He has backpeddled on quite a few of his campaign promises, with disastrous results. Off-shore drilling for one, replacing American soldiers with grossly paid and unaccountable mercenaries in Iraq and calling it withdrawal is another.
Saying we were not paying attention is disingenious, at best.
