1. And Barack Obama is just as guilty, now that he's helping to cover up the crimes.
Where's that transparency and accountability we were promised?

He talks big, but his actions don't always align with his words. (And we're not supposed to notice.)

19. And I had thought this patriot were merely implementing a long-held far RW PNAC agenda of
pre-emptive wars of aggression (choice) and all those other far RW thingies like trampling the Constitution and the Rule of Law: silly me, oh ye of little faith and shameless nattering nabob of negativism. :P

6. Worse yet are the people who want to put them back in charge of the country
like they have new ideals since they did this, in reality republicons haven't had any new ideals since Hoover was president, they just keep repackaging the same crap and call it new and improved. The real problem is the independents, the ones who are fence sitters not these so called ex cons who make up the tea baggers, they don't pay attention to politics except for election day then cast their vote to the person who looks honest but they have no clue except for TV ads.

7. If you cover your head with the flag all of that sounds patriotic
Course, you'll have to put your flag draped head up your ass to get the full effect.

16. It fully sank in for me last night. Until now, I thought they were trying
to let them hang themselves, but even when they did (Cheney's admissions for instance), they were not moved to do anything.

I think to not pursue the criminals who destroyed so much internally and globally is a crime against the future of America.

I will NEVER GIVE UP demanding some justice, but after last night I am convinced we are on our own.

23. I'm going to assume this is not a trick question...
It's not so much what he said, it's what he did not say and some clues are contained in the OP.
I think, considering the gravity of it all, you may consider watching the speech.

31. I hear ya, WB
I stopped listening after Obama spoke at West Point about increasing troops in that wasteland of Afghanistan. How Bushian to use a captive audience, in a military setting for such BS. After:

- the non public option, health insurance cave-in
- the all clear in the Gulf
- the ongoing belittling of teachers
- the Alan Simpson/Deficit Commission

and so much more (e.g. Geithner, Summers, Rahm, Gibbs, Arne), I find that Obama actually grates on me more than Bush. With GWB, getting screwed was expected, but Obama's hope... change and yes, we can mantra... rings quite hollow now and that's being euphemistic.

27. Not a trick question at all.

I told my husband I'm having a 1980s moment. I'm going back to the apathy I felt right after the Carter/Reagan election & my incredible disappointment in Americans being conned by a second-rate actor & the whole Iranian hostage affair. That apathy attack lasted 20 years. ~sigh.

Thanks, I'll look for the text of his speech. I'm sure it will reinforce that old saying, 'Ignorance is bliss.'

snip...

Ending this war is not only in Iraq’s interest– it is in our own. The United States has paid a huge price to put the future of Iraq in the hands of its people. We have sent our young men and women to make enormous sacrifices in Iraq, and spent vast resources abroad at a time of tight budgets at home. We have persevered because of a belief we share with the Iraqi people –a belief that out of the ashes of war, a new beginning could be born in this cradle of civilization. Through this remarkable chapter in the history of the United States and Iraq, we have met our responsibility. Now, it is time to turn the page.

As we do, I am mindful that the Iraq War has been a contentious issue at home. Here, too, it is time to turn the page. This afternoon, I spoke to former President George W. Bush. It’s well known that he and I disagreed about the war from its outset. Yet no one could doubt President Bush’s support for our troops, or his love of country and commitment to our security. As I have said, there were patriots who supported this war, and patriots who opposed it. And all of us are united in appreciation for our servicemen and women, and our hope for Iraq’s future.

The greatness of our democracy is grounded in our ability to move beyond our differences, and to learn from our experience as we confront the many challenges ahead. And no challenge is more essential to our security than our fight against al Qaeda.

===
What about the challenge of rule of law, sir?

I am sickened.

I know I do.

There are millions of people in jail for relatively minor indiscretions.
They are off the streets!!

They will never build fire-prone towers again.
