The Republicans have no economic plan
The Republicans have no economic plan beyond a) doing nothing or b) plunging the nation into a deflationary death spiral.

It would be pretty easy to gain the initiative against people with no plan.

Have a big, visionary, attention-getting plan.

"But it wouldn't pass congress!"

So what?

Have a big, visionary, attention-getting plan is aspirational and inspirational and good politics.

Put the right answer on the table.

Don't whine about how the republicans block even the pettiest, most innocuous initiative.

Let them block an initiative that would actually be the right answer.

Propose the best policy.

It may not pass but neither will the 99th best policy, and in times this challenging there is probably a substantial upside to being RIGHT versus merely being less wrong.

1. Their economic plan is in action...
Transfer wealth to their benefactors--the top one percent of the population. Steal every last cent possible from everyone else--including the looting of Scoial Security. Simple plan, and it's working well!

3. I agree. It doesn't matter if they don't have a plan if we don't either. I don't
Think the voters have a clear choice right now, ao they could be moved if something clear was being proposed and acted on.

I would really like to see a new economic team too. Warren, Volcker, Reich, some new views and a real shakeup might re-energize the voters.

4. Republicans do not need a plan, they are getting everything they want
as it is. Tax cuts for the very wealthy, no matter how much it adds to the Deficit and Debt, Check, Praise for the previous Administration and their "War Profiteering", check, Cuts in Social Security, check, more troops on the border of Arizona, check, Off Shore Drilling, check, No Public Option, check, Increase war spending, check, I can't think of a single thing Republicans have asked for that Obama hasn't given them...

6. their plan: 1) stop obama from fixing it 2) regain control 3) take the rest of the money
it's not a good plan, perhaps not even for their ultra-rich constituents, but it has its appeal for them.
