US Navy To Cut Second Fleet To Buy More Ships?
unhappycamper note: Since the Pentagon has ‘requested’ that I only post one paragraph from articles on Army Times, and Airforce Times, I’ve decided to give ya’ll an unhappycamper summary of the article and a link to the OP. To keep in that same (new) tradition, I will also do the same for for articles on Navy Times, Marine Corps Times, stripes.com and military.com.

To read the article in the military's own words, you will need to click the link.

I didn't realize that the Pentagon/MIC could restrict my First Amendment rights as well as morph the Copyright Act of 1976, 17 U.S.C. § 107 with zero, zip, nada Congressional approval. (NOTE: I am going to revise the preceding sentence.) It sure is beginning to smell like fascism.[br />
unhappycamper summary of this article: Apparently the Navy is talking about cutting ships to buy more (expensive) ships. I sure hope they put some money in the budget to buy some tools for sailors.

But naval analysts and a retired admiral who commanded Atlantic Fleet surface forces say they’re hearing exactly what the lobbyist claimed: 2nd Fleet, in charge of fleet operations for defense of the East Coast and afloat training in the North Atlantic for more than 60 years, could soon be a thing of the past.

1. thanks for what you do
What the dumbasses at the Pentagon fail to understand is that your posts, regardless of how many paragraphs you snip, drive more traffic to their "Times" sites than if you didn't post. As a vet I have minimal interest in reading the Timeses but when I find myself there it is because one of your links. I usually stay there awhile after I read the referring article. The Pentagon, perhaps one day they'll understand how the intertubes, net-thingy works.
