Here's a suggestion for all those in Congress who want to keep the tax cuts for millionaires. |

All of you can take a salary and benefit cut to help cover the cost of the lower tax collections. After all, if you expect the American people to suffer, shouldn't you suffer as well? What are you giving up to help? What is your contribution?
You want us to give up Social Security and Medicare. What are you giving up, Congress?

General Smedley Butler also thought that any time this nation wants to go go war, the munitions makers shouldn't make any more money than the lowest paid grunt in the military.
That, of course, would've removed the profit motive from war, so of course it wasn't taken seriously by all the "serious" people.
However, if Congress wants to further erode the social safety net for American citizens, they should, at the least, take a pay cut and sign away all their future social security benefits... for the good of the nation.
Assuming they're patriots and not greedy assholes who are in the pocket of Koch Bros, etc.
