2. My head is about to explode
BecKKK just said, 'the truth will set you free', several times and I get the feeling I'm back in time in another country.

I'm amazed that this man gets so much air time. :puke:

4. His notoriety is a direct indication of the gullibility level of a large
percent of Americans. We seem to be turning into one of the dumbest Countries in the World.

5. I have been saying this for the last 20 years
I'm 61 and have raised a son and now have 2 grands one is 15 the other is 20. I can not believe the state of public education. The kids don't have books. Books are left in the class and shared. I offered to buy my grands text books only to be told, 'no we can't do that'. So how the hell are they suppose to study at home. Homework? What's that. My granddaughter lived with me to attend high school - she never had homework. That drove me insane :wtf: no homework? Of course, the kids love it.

If you can't afford to send your children to private school and school budgets are funded solely on property taxes, you're kids aren't going to receive a decent education if you live in a poor or average community. I'm not even talking rocket science education - the basics! Johnny and Jennifer can't read, write, or think!

I agree, we're on a race to the bottom when it comes to educating our children and providing medical care to our citizens. At this stage of the game I don't see this country ever being able to rebound.

6. I have been an educator since 1957. Your analysis of the decline
in education is accurate. For reasons that unclear to me, America has decided to allow the public school system to deteriorate. It may be due to the rise of the right wing philosophy that puts no stock in public education.

7. RW dream to create a permanent underclass
I've been convinced for years that they want public schools to fail so that only people that can afford education can get one. Everyone else gets to go to work at 12 years old, serving their betters.

8. And I thought maybe my
tinfoil hat was on too tight. Thanks for sharing that, I feel normal.

My brother in law who is a Repug is constantly putting me down as some left wing liberal conspiracy theorist. I love the guy except for his politics.

He reads Krauthammer, (thinks Krugman is a liberal nut) and of course the Wall Street Journal, his homepage is Drudge and his permanent source of newz... No comment.

His brother, my husband is one us - a normal liberal progressive Democrat ;). He's had long discussions with his brother and can not seem to budge him one bit. Health Care for profit is not immoral, providing quality education for all is not a government responsiblity, Social Security is a scam and will bankrupt the country - you know the drivel.

He's socially liberal in all respects, his baby brother is gay he has no problem with that, he's not religious but, everything else he's off the rails.

10. "Old times gone but not forgotten." Just like the plantation days
when most slave owners denied access to education for the slaves.

9. An informed and educated populace is a dangerous populace to the powers that be.
Fat, dumb, uber patriotic and religious so as not to question anything is how the power elite want them.

Hence why children are taught to take tests and not think critically and why the public schools have been allowed to fail.
