Is there any Democratic Senator that would filibuster any attempt to |
|
put into place tax cuts for the wealthy? Senator Franken or Kerry or Feingold or anyone???? Remember Democrats don't have to do anything concerning Bush*'s tax cuts expiring. Someone has to introduce legislation to put into place those tax cuts again. All it takes is one Democrat to filibuster and I am fairly certain they won't pass. I doubt twenty Democrats will side with Republicans on extending tax cuts for the wealthy...Let em all expire and then down the road put together some sort of tax relief for the middle class if it seems necessary. but to just continue what drove America to it's knees seems more than asinine to me.

1. Feingold and Franken, for sure. Sherrod Brown would be there in the struggle with them. |

2. "all it takes is one Democrat" |

no sir. It takes 41 Senators to vote against cloture. There is no rule in place that allows one Senator, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington style, to stand and yammer in perpetuity. It is a simple procedural vote and has been for at least 35 years. http://rules.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=RuleXXIIhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloture#United_States
