Excellent news for reasonable Alaskans!

This survey was conducted Tuesday night just hours after incumbent GOP Senator Lisa Murkowski conceded the Republican nomination during a recount of the August 24 primary. Miller, a lawyer and military veteran, benefited from support from the state’s former governor Sarah Palin and Tea Party activists.

Ninety percent (90%) of Democrats back McAdams while 79% of Republicans throw their vote behind Miller. McAdams holds a 22-point lead among voters not affiliated with either major political party.

The new numbers move this race from Solid Republican to Leans Republican in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power.

Why is being 6 points behind Joe Miller incredibly good news?

1) The Tea Party Express spent almost $600,000 in the LAST 10 DAYS BEFORE THE PRIMARY ELECTION! That’s how they took it away from Lisa Murkowski.

2) Joe Miller has now had numerous appearances and interviews on national media shows.

3) Scott McAdams has had NO advertising and very little media exposure–what exposure he’s had has been been local.

4) Scott McAdams definitely has not had any celebrity endorsements as of yet.

5) Accurate polling in Alaska primaries is almost impossible. No one knows which primary non-partisan Alaskans will choose to vote in (they can choose either the Republican or the “Open”–Democrats and everyone else). However, this is the general election which is not hindered by that difficulty. Polling numbers are usually much more accurate.

6) Rasmussen, as a rule, tends to trend more conservative.

The information I find to be most important is this:

Ninety percent (90%) of Democrats back McAdams while 79% of Republicans throw their vote behind Miller. McAdams holds a 22-point lead among voters not affiliated with either major political party. (Note that MOST voters in Alaska are not affiliated with either major party.)

What this says is a) Rasmusson polls must be dominated by Republicans to get these results, and b) WE MUST GET THE NON-PARTISAN VOTER TO THE POLLS!

Let’s get to work

Please help Alaskans remove the stench of Sarah Palin and her minions from our state. Put aside all the negative feelings you have about Alaska as a state and think about that new, bright, shiny Democratic vote in the Senate. You're going to need all the votes you can get.

5. What I like about all this primary-ing...
is that the repubs are spending large percentages of their war-chests fighting each other. This can only work in our favor.

6. Personally I think his campaign should be just the following
Listen to Joe Miller and then vote for me Scott Adams

Hundreds of posters around the state with just his name on them, so people know who to vote for.

Let Miller implode his own campaign
