Student loan debt now exceeds credit card debt. |
|
as reported on tonights Nightly business report.
Is that because record personal bankruptcies have now discharged enough massively inflated debt?

1. student loans, a new racket in the past 10 years? |
|
When i was in college over 20 years ago, at a state university, i was able to pay for most of my tuition and living expenses on my own. i qualified for in-state tuition because i worked over 20 hrs a week.
Few weeks ago, a colleague (think he got his degree within the past 5 years) told me owed $90k in student loans. Doctors and PhDs enter the workforce owing over twice that amount.
:wtf:
How are people supposed to begin their lives in the 'real world' with such an awful weight on their shoulders? :(

Which can't be discharged. I think you make a good point. ALL debt can be discharged (loans, medical bills, etc...) with the exception of student loans which follow you beyond the grave.
