IF the pukes make real progress this November, win about 50 seats in the House and get to 50/50 in |

the Senate, we can easily have President Palin in 2012.
The right has not shown that they have the will or ability to stand against the Tea Party, maybe the Tea Party is the GOP...If what I am seeing now, Brown being elected in MA and that dude in Alaska winning, the crazy guy Rand Paul in KY, and that bat-shit crazy moron in NV continues to hold her own against Harry Reid...etc.
Then, President Palin is 100% possible!!!
The people of this country are not indicating that they care about what you think, they are not ashamed of their own stupidity, they are not afraid of their own ignorance...etc. The free market folks do not care about government, the libertarian types, care less who is in charge, the right-wing will happily vote for her, the moderates in the GOP are too afraid to speak out, the center/independents are still not happy about the economy...etc. I think you know how this movie ends.
P.S. I know we can blunt ALL of this if we all show up and vote this November...

8. That's where I think it's headed. I hear R's that, of course, hate the D's and |
|
no way in hell are they going to vote in D's probably much to the WH's amazement. And I also hear from D's that are fed up. The WH appears to have blinders on and are going down some road thinking the D's will be successful.
I'm afraid the Democratic party is in for a rude awakening in Nov. and 2012. This is horribly sad seeing where we were in 2008. I just keep thinking WTF is wrong with this picture. I also know good solid Democrats that refuse to even watch Obama on TV. There is something definitely wrong.

for people out of money, being in foreclosure, and having had their jobs sent to india, how much worse can it be unless the gop makes it against the law to breathe.
americas engine is blown...turning the key back & forth between the same 2 positions isn't going to fix it.

5. I don't think so. The Republicans likely will take the House (but not the Senate) -- |
|
but in fact, it will only help Obama. Just as with the first two years of Clinton (or during Carter's presidency) things don't go so well for Dems when we control both the White House and Congress.
Over these past two years, Obama has been disappointing his base with the unsavory sausages he, Pelosi and Reid have created -- health care "reform" being the best example. At the same time, the rightwingers have convinced themselves that the Dems have being doing nothing less than legislating socialism.
Once the Republicans control (or almost completely control) Congress, Obama's popularity will increase -- there won't be any more "socialism" and he will get back his base by standing up to Republican nonsense that will come out of Congress.
He will have his second term.

7. This is NOT about Obama, it is about getting REAL progressive laws inacted |
|
to benefit the people of this country...Clinton got his 2nd term alright, but Clinton pretty much gave us all a rightwing agenda, no? From DADT to NAFTA...etc. Clinton was a centrist at best, all we got was centrist policies that helped cripple this country, don't you think?

The tea partiers will win some victories this fall, no doubt about it. They haven't displaced any mainstream Repukes in blue or purple areas, so they're likely to do well where they're on the ballot in the reddest of the red states.
President Palin is not the long shot we thought it would be a couple of years ago. While I have my doubts that we can produce some significant turnout this fall, I'm much sunnier about our prospects in November, 2012.

Not much we can do when we have to admit more than 9 our of 10 people we see walking down the street are basically functional idiots. And some of them can really fool you too. They actually seem somewhat normal most of the time. But they are not.

12. Just voting is not enough. What is needed is activism on the local |
|
level. It's easy. Just call your local congressional or Senate candidate's campaign office and volunteer to do precinct walking or something else to help encourage Democrats to come out and vote. It's that or lose. I know what I'm doing.

14. republicans taking the Congress would be the worst thing for palin |
|
They'll once again prove (and remind Americans) that they're incapable of governing. Americans can be pretty daft, but after two years of republicans in charge of the Congress, there's no way they'll elect palin.

People can be fairly self delusional like thinking after 8 years of the GOP controlling the gov't that the economic crisis was somehow the result of liberals, but IF the GOP won I really can't see that things could get anything but worse.
Fool me once...we won't get fooled again ;-)
I honestly do think Obama and the Dems need to work on coordination and messaging. Also they need to be as willing to fight dirty as the GOP. Obama's taking the high road is perceived as weakness by a lot of people where if he swung back hard they'd have more respect for him.

He was majorly gushing over her this afternoon on his radio program for some reason- fervently believing that she is poised to stage a "comeback" and put the next uppity corporate media pundit in his/her place next time they try to surprise her with a question about what magazines/newspapers she reads. :eyes:
