4 right wing co workers
jumped me today at work about how the republicans were going to kick democrat asses this November.

I looked at them (all of them are about my age) and said, I'm 59 1/2 years old and looking forward to retirement. Republican politicans are all running their campaigns on giving the wealthy another huge tax cut and then raise the social security retirement age to 70. I said, only a damn fool would shoot theirselves in the foot just to be able to say my party won!

Not a peep out out of any of them as I walked out.

3. Well done!!
It's amazing how many republicans will not sit down and do the math and realize that their party is actually working AGAINST them, not FOR them. The "gop" only pushes hot-button issues because they know it will get their sheep to the polls.

Too bad that they don't think for themselves and choose, instead, to follow father Beck, brother Limbaugh, and sister Hannity.

20. I blame organized sports.
Hell, some public schools will cut teachers before the football team loses a single dollar.

Our priorities are screwed up by a worship of high states sports starting at a young age.

11. Good work !
I live in a predominintly blue town in a blue state. The guy around the corner has his McCain/Palin bumpersticker on his pickup along with his "Remember in November" and "2%" stickers. He's a firefighter, a union member, a working class guy. I can't help but wonder every time he drives by, why he would vote against his own interests ?

44. 100% Correct
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

45. Rachel Madow made a similar comment...
To paraphrase her recent remarks:

Conservatives say government is the "problem".
So the next thing you know they want to be put in charge of the "problem".
At which point there's a DEFINITE problem!

A self-fulfilling prophecy perhaps?

53. Well it took 24 hours for one of them to reply. Yesterday
one of them told me that SS was going broke and the republicans were trying to save it.

I told him Republicans have for years wanted you to believe that, but only because they think that it's a welfare program. I explained how republicans would love to see millions of desperate, hungry, and willing to work cheap or starve baby boomers. Even though he didn't believe it, I explained that it was solvent until the year 2032 and if we raised the cap it could go on forever.

I believe he'll choose to stay willfully ignorant, but I'm certain he'll not turn down this socialist program when it's his turn to collect.

We work for a company that makes auto bumpers for new automobiles. They laugh at me when I remind them that President Obama saved our jobs with the wildly popular Cash for Clunkers program and that saving American manufacturing jobs never was on the republican agenda.

Thinking now about putting a bumper sticker on my pickup saying "President Obama Saved My Job", just to piss them off.

54. Your friends are supporting those who would rape them.
But they will never see the truth, trust me. People like this are no longer reachable. They are so emotionally invested in hatred for the government (i.e. Obama) and for anyone different from them (especially Obama) that there is no longer a way back for them. The only silver lining is that the very worst of them turn out to be old white men with anger management issues, not the #1 group on the Longevity List. Clearly, there is no other way to get rid of them.
