Come November I will be voting for a straight Democratic ticket.
I will be doing the same in this month's primary. I will probably cast the very same votes in both.

Mikulski (Senate)

Cummings (House)

O'Malley (Governor)

The rest of the names you wouldn't recognize as they're all state and county offices. But they're all Democrats

With that out of the way, I will go back to my loudmouth pushing for a party turn back to the left. I will go back to my caterwauling about the fruitlessness of reaching out to the right.

1. You are a bad person and exactly why we are going to get crushed
in this election.

It is precisely because you leftwing professional types insist on voting straight democratic tickets that the suburban white male 'independent' voter has discovered his inner nazi skinhead and will be voting birther this fall. Shame on you.

7. The only reason I do not vote straight ticket is.....
because on my local ticket, there are usually a couple races when no Dem is running, but some third party or write is running against the R, so I vote each race so I will remember to vote against the R for each one.

14. Simple, in Washington State. Everyone gets the same ballot with candidates
from all parties at all levels. You can split your primary vote any way you want.

22. That's true, too. Maryland has a closed primary, so you have to declare a party...
...however, our primary is one of the last remaining ones before the general. So, the OP's thread makes sense...

10. I me mine
All thru' the day I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
All thru' the night I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
Now they're frightened of leaving it
Ev'ryone's weaving it,
Coming on strong all the time,
All thru' the day I me mine.

I-I-me-me mine,
I-I-me-me mine,
I-I-me-me mine,
I-I-me-me mine.

All I can hear I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
Even those tears I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
No-one's frightened of playing it
Ev'ryone's saying it,
Flowing more freely than wine,
All thru' Your life, I me mine.

I-I-me-me mine,
I-I-me-me mine,
I-I-me-me mine,
I-I-me-me mine.

All I can hear I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
Even those tears I me mine, I me mine, I me mine.
No-one's frightened of playing it
Ev'ryone's saying it,
Flowing more freely than wine,
All thru' your life I me mine.

18. I'm hoping for a green in a local race I can support...
I like plants, and I think we need to grow a few. But for everything else, I vote out of enlightened self interest, and nothing the Republicans have or do will ever be enlightened.

19. You're in Maryland, so you'll appreciate this...
I just found out that the dude running against Steny Hoyer is a guy that I went to college with, Charles Hollar. He was an asshole then, and he's an asshole now! Republican. Tea-bagger. Black man (so freakin' weird). Incredibly arrogant! If he thinks he's going to take Steny down, he's got another thing coming!!! :puke:

Oh, and by the way, I will be voting for my Democratic ticket:

Mikulski, Van Hollen, O'Malley, and any Democrat on the ticket. Having Republicans in office--no matter who they are--is simply unacceptable in this great BLUE STATE!!

39. SO AM I
Edited on Fri Sep-03-10 07:31 PM by anthroguy101
I will be voting for:

Kathy Dahlkemper - Pennsylvania's 3rd House District
Dan Onorato - Governer
Joseph Sestak - Senate

in my first election ever. I turn 18 on Sep. 28, and I've already registered as a Democrat. It is that important to me.

As far as local elections go, our "mainstream" Republican Kathy Rapp (Pennsylvania House) is running unopposed AFAIK. I can leave her space blank, can't I?
