People defend the splinterists by saying that
"mediocre" candidates force them to vote
third-party, but it seems that these two elections demonstrate
that people can take responsibility for the consequences of
their actions and find the "D" on the ballot all by
themselves.  It seems like not even the Nader voters thought
that voting for Nader was a good idea.

1. Well, when you live in a non-swing state, its easier to vote third-party.

Take Idaho, for example. Always votes reliably Republican in presidential races, by huge margins. Its not even close.

So what's the harm in casting a vote for a third party candidate when the Democrat has no chance anyway?

Now the folks who voted for Nader in toss-up states like Florida... idiots.
