Mosque funder donated to Hamas front group
Hamas' mosque funder
6G gift to front group

By JENNIFER GOULD KEIL

An Egyptian-born businessman who lives on Long Island — and who once gave thousands of dollars to a Hamas front group — is a major investor in the proposed mosque near Ground Zero, it was reported last night, in the first disclosure of the money behind the controversial project.

Hisham Elzanaty was a “significant investor” in developer Sharif el-Gamal’s $4.8 million purchase of the former Burlington Coat Factory building, where the mosque and Islamic cultural center will be built, the donor’s lawyer, Wolodymyr Starosolsky, told Fox 5 News.

El-Gamal himself has refused to disclose where he got the money to buy the building in July 2009. Elzanaty owns a $2million home in Roslyn Heights, and operates medical companies out of a building in The Bronx. He also owns the New York Neuro and Rehab Center in Morningside Heights.

2. Well, I'm certainly not going to comment on the wisdom of that.
He had that right though.

3. So does this mean that Fox News is now connected to Hamas?
#2 shareholder of News Corp - Funds the "Ground Zero Mosque" - Hisham also funds it - As well as Hamas

Fox News is therefore connected to Hamas.

9. Why? Is it less credible than the NYT and its numerous front page Iraq WMD splashes?
Or the LA Times and their "Winnebagos of Death", that they said Iraq possessed?

13. Lol. One name: Jason Blair
Lest we forget exactly how much more credible than other newspapers the NYT has proven itself to be.

15. Yes, it is less credible. It is a Rupert Murdoch tabloid rag
best used, if used at all, to wrap fish in, although even fish should not be subjected to Murdoch's bile. It is also known for its mistreatment of its employees, particularly some of its women employees.

Its goal on a daily basis is to produce screaming headlines that scare the the country against the 'real terrorists' trying to take over the country, which in Murdoch's fevered brain would be 'liberals'.

The other publications, the NYT and the LAT are no paragons of virtue in the media business, however while they have cooperated with the government to help cover up certain information and to outright lie about the wars, you can find some real news in them at times, especially on their editorial pages.

The brain-rot that is caused by watching Fox and/or reading the Post is incurable. One can survive the lack of coverage or the slant of the news presented in the NYT or the LAT.

16. Don't agree

NYT, LAT and CNN are all more dangerous than Fox news or its subsidiaries. Most thinking people assume what Fox says is BS. The others have an air of credibility that they have proven over and over again they don't deserve.

They are more insidious and dangerous than Fox could ever hope to be.

10. Shall We Run An Audit On News Corp???
Wouldn't it be of great interest to find out what type of money the Saudi princes who own a large chunk of Rupertsworld donate to? Considering the Saudi royal family are devout Wahabiists, wanna bet a bright shiny dime their money ends up in running the Madrassas that teach hatred of the US...and also into the hands of Al Queda (bin Laden connection anyone???).

Methinks those who live in glass houses should be more careful but it's News Corp...never held accountable...ever.

11. McCarthyite bs.
a good friend of mine's father has been hauled in for questioning because of his giving practices. They claimed he donated to an Hamas front group. The dude is a moderate Muslim doctor who voted for Bush twice. The second time they did this to him, he stopped being a Republican because he realized what a racist game he had been thrust into. Is there a Muslim charity that some Republican douchenozzle thinks is not a Hamas front group?

His mosque was just vandalized this week. BTW. This type of shit is why.

12. Near as I can tell, he gave $5,000 to an orphanage...
that might have been a Hamas front. (Seems like a lot of rich Muslims have been hoodwinked into giving money to these fronts.)

He also gave 500 bucks to Gillibrand's campaign, for whatever that's worth.

Lots of lame-ass wingnut sites out there screaming that someone should get the goods on this guy, although no one seems to know what goods are to be gotten.
