Great Animal Story of the Day: Goats Rescued From 60-Foot Tall Perch
http://www.care2.com/causes/animal-welfare/blog/goats-rescued-from-60-foot-tall-perch/

Two young goats were rescued Wednesday after spending nearly two days stranded 60-feet in the air on a narrow 6-inch ledge of an old railroad bridge in Montana. A piece of mining equipment brought them to safety.

The Rimrock Humane Society in Roundup, Montana received a call Wednesday morning from a person who reported seeing two goats stuck on the train bridge. The two female goats had been there for nearly two days.

DeMichiei brought a piece of mining equipment to the bridge, with an arm high enough to reach the goats.

The goats were hungry, but in good condition. They were taken to Freeman’s animal sanctuary.

Video of rescue at link.

1. Well...
The irony is that the goats might have been safer up there away from the reach of humans. They'll probably end up as mutton chops in some restaurant soon. Our notion of rescue is strangely skewed.

John.

14. I did.
but, the sanctuary is looking for the goat's owners, who might be a butcher, a chef or a voracious carnivore like me.

Anyways, I was going for the most probable case. Goats aren't particularly famous as pets. They are usually raised for milk or meat.

6. They'd have to change species to end up as mutton.
Quite a feat for a young goat.

8. I'd say a 60 foot perch would probably eat whatever the hell it wants to eat

15. Is that you holding it ?
Reminds me a local guy named Luke who fishes for cat fish. I've seen a picture of him standing in a Spanish river with one over 140lbs in his arms. :)
