Jan Brewer: I'm Done With Debates
Kitchen,heat,stay out,etc.

So after her poor showing, which involved a flubbed opening statement that made the internet rounds yesterday, Brewer has had enough: "I think it's pretty defined what stands for and what I stand for."

Brewer was also hit for dodging reporters' questions about her erroneous claim that undocumented immigrants beheaded people in her state.

1. Based on what I saw on K.O.
Last night? She never even started! How can she possibly be done with something she never started in the first place?

10. It's called "Klonopin" now.
Be sure to thank your local pharma PR department.

I think she was blitzed too. Every Republican I know is on hard pharmaceuticals.

3. She's got to be history. I can't see how anyone would vote for her after her
pathetic showing yesterday.

Fail, Gov. Brewer. Take your bad bleached hair don't and go home, and not to the Governor's mansion. You are an idiot. (Among other things, that was the nicest of them.)

12. Arizona is my second home.
I think people are getting fed up with all the crap. The economy sucks, there are no jobs, housing values have crashed. All roads lead back to the GOP. They've got to figure it out at some point.

20. Her anti-immigration bill seems wildly popular in Arizona
So say the polls anyway. She seems to have and has held a commanding lead in this race since polling started. The people may be getting fed up, as you say, but so far it hasn't translated to a desire to put Jan out.

Hopefully the debate was Jan's "Couric" moment, but I don't think it was.

21. I hope the press eats her alive after she treated them so badly yesterday.
I know that one reporter has been after her pretty hard about the prison corporation, but now maybe the rest will join in as well. Brewer is dirty, dirty all the way to the tips of her Lee Press-On Nails!

line for the governorship when Napolitano was made Head of Homeland Security

19. Local political strategist made a good point I think
If it becomes a narrative that she isn't competent to handle the job. He suggested that she address it and laugh it off and say we all have "brain farts". He said people like people who have a sense of humor about themselves. He did say, what happened at the debate (especially when she ran away from a question by a reporter after the debate) is the best thing Terry Goddard could of asked for. Like he said though if it becomes a narrative than it would help Terry out but she can recover from this is basically what he was saying depending on how she handles it.

What I thought was more damaging was not the opening statement. It was the way she avoided the issues in the debate while Terry had a very good command over them. Especially on education was the most damaging topic for her imo. Also after the debate when she was asked about her statement about beheadings she pretty much ran away.

11. How do you botch the opening statement?
I've participated in dozens of these things. The opening statement is the easy part. You've prepared it in advance, rehearsed it. It's not like the out of left field question about renwable portfolio standards (I got hit with that one and actually handled it well) or the inevitable hostile fire over a social issue.

You open your debate with "First, I'd like to thank (__ name of institution ___) for having us here today..."

If she can't even get that right, she's in deep trouble.

26. Here's jan brewer's plan for Arizona
Edited on Fri Sep-03-10 04:03 PM by ProudDad
While the thought of taxing the rich fucks who don't contribute ANYTHING to the state while paying NO taxes is anathema to republican jerks like brewer and her handlers (and CCA -- the prison corporation) and most of the supine democrat codependents...

Her plan is to (in order of below):

1) Piss on state employees (let them eat "cake")
2) Cut state parks (AND rest areas! Talk about dumping on tourism)
3) Use Federal Stimulus money while pissing on the Feds for the stimulus
4) CUT, CUT, CUT public education EVERYWHERE from pre-K to college! She didn't need it, why the f*ck should working people get decent education.
5) CUT, CUT, CUT Medicare (that's what AHCCCS is here), Kill Kid's Health Care, People with mental health issues should "get it together on their own", put 10,000 more families on the street, put 10,000 MORE low wage working people out on the street, Close Juvenile corrections and put the kids in the county jails with the real "criminals" (another unfunded mandate to the cities and counties), steal lottery money from schools to state subsidies for rich corporations...

* According to the governor's proposed budget plan, in an effort to eliminate the state's budget deficit she has recommended a mandatory 5 percent pay cut for state employees.

* In January 2010 an Arizona oversight board voted to close 13 state parks in an effort to ease the state's looming budget deficit. Since July 2009 the state legislature cut approximately 61% of the state parks budget.

* In order to avoid major budget cuts to Public Safety the governor has proposed using $20 million in federal stimulus dollars to "fund grants for local public safety to help cities and towns."

* Education funding, according to the proposed budget, will be reduced to the FY 2006 funding levels, however, the Gov. Brewer emphasized that funding will not drop below the FY 2006 levels.

* Additional proposed reductions include: reduce Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System by 25%; eliminate the KidsCare program; reduce mental health services; eliminate cash assistance for 10,000 families; place a hard cap on day care assistance and eliminate services for for more than 10,000 children of low-income working parents; close the Department of Juvenile Corrections, transitioning the custody of minors to county detention centers and laying off an additional 900 State employees; reduces State employee pay by 5%; and redirect Lottery revenue streams.

FUCKED UP, ISN'T IT? Arizona has definitely overtaken Texas as the incubator for bat-shit crazy right-wing republican policies and "values".

Jan Brewer's handlers and owners are definitely EVIL...

In fact, here are a couple of our local members of the jan brewer fan club:

Don Diamond and 2 of his sons -- Rich, FAT, evil developer sucking up fossil water and city services for his bloated developments full of mcmansions in what used to be the Sonoran Desert:

Jim Click (we know him as Jim Prick) car dealer extraordinaire. He wants more and more and more roads to fill with his fucking cars (including a VERY nice road near our house that he and his buddies plan on widening into a 6 lane urban expressway for his cars to zip through town on a little further north from the LAST 6 lane urban expressway this fuck and his buddies ruined another part of town with!)

And there are a few others. This is a small town, run by a clique of rich fuckers with a supine City Council doing their bidding...

Their bidding consists of sucking up to the war machine (the Mayor is a former Raytheon PR flak!), the tourist industry and developers.

28. The "Liberal Media" is covering for her
A report out of AP as published in the Oregonian includes the following:

"Brewer became governor in January 2009 when her Democratic predecessor resigned in midterm..."

which of course refers to Napolitano getting, shall we say, a better job offer. This wording jumped right off the page because of the implied reference to another governor who resigned. If AP is liberal, then I'm the Pope.
