Fiorina Backs Delaying Calif. Global Warming Law

SACRAMENTO (AP) ― Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina says she supports a ballot initiative seeking to delay California's landmark global warming law after refusing to take a position during a debate this week.

Fiorina's campaign on Friday announced that the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard Co. is backing Proposition 23, which is being funded primarily by Texas oil companies.

Fiorina says the 2006 state law is "an imperfect solution to addressing our nation's climate and energy challenges." She says she prefers a national energy policy and called the state law a "job killer."
