Afghanistan War is Becoming More Deadly |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-03-10 05:13 PM by LandR
June, July, and August have seen the most casualties, 179, of any other 3 month period of the Afghanistan War. Additionally, there have been more deaths in these last three months than from the beginning of the war in late 2001 until June 2006. In other words, the last 3 months = the first 4.5 years. These facts show that the surge in Afghanistan is certainly resulting with an increased rate of casualties.
When December comes and a decision is to be made about the level of troops in Afghanistan, it is becoming safer to assume that very few if any troops will be leaving. Though it is also becoming safer to assume that regardless of any change in the level of US troops, there will be an increase in private contractors.
Will we be changing the troop level in Afghanistan? Especially when you consider the rising casualty rate it is likely there will be an increase of troops. Let me know what you think.
Also, check out the link in my signature for other recent statistics on the wars.
