Roger Ebert: Palin and Beck. Possible Plans for a Presidential run together.
This is 2 days old; I searched for a post on it, and did not find it. Hope to not duplicate.

Here is the editorial

http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/2010/09/put_up_or_shut_up.html

Roger Ebert writes a lead in consisting of his reasons and his observations to allow him to come to this conclusion.
It is well worth reading, especially if you have come to respect his opinions.

This process may soon be arriving at a moment of truth. The new issue of Vanity Fair mentions in its profile of Sarah Palin, as a casual aside, that Glenn Beck has booked the Dena'ina Center, the largest venue in Anchorage, for the date of September 11, 2010. What do you think that means? It could mean Beck simply wants to hold a rally in the home state of the woman who shared his podium on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of Martin Luther King's famous speech.
Beck says he chose that date without realizing its significance. But it cannot be a coincidence that he has chosen 9/11. Nor does it take special insight to connect that date with Palin's many statements about the "Ground Zero Mosque" and the even more pointed "9/11 Mosque." The association is obvious: "9/11" feeds into "mosque" feeds into "Muslims" feeds into the misperception that Obama is a Muslim. Beck and Palin speak about "taking back America." The buried message is that they will take it back from Muslims. This is a heartless misuse of the tragedy of 9/11 and its victims.

If Beck had planned to come to Anchorage on another date, it wouldn't have excited much notice. But any meeting in Alaska on 9/11 without Palin also present will be anticlimactic. It's too far to go not to feature her. The symbolic date of 9/11 invests this event with the inescapable possibility that he and Palin plan to announce their Presidential candidacy for 2012.

God, can you see a prelim debate where all candidates have to use a blackboard?

12. I so agree.
I posted this without comment - a little worried about it being old news.
I think a Palin-Beck run of any sort would do a lot to bring the idiocy of it all to the fore and help our cause(s).

I talked to a childhood friend who lives in Europe yesterday. He said that he heard Glenn Beck is the retarded little brother of the devil.
Emphasis on retarded.

26. Enjoy your debates after they win.
The type of people who would vote for these two... they don't care about the debates. To them it's just MSM noise. They will be rabid, though, and get out to the polls.

No, I think it's too scary to consider.

that I have trouble believing that either one of them would consent to the supporting role of running to become vice-president.

8. It would be very strange to have a President and a Vice President...
announced 2 years before the Convention.

Also, I do not believe that Beck would agree to letting a woman be on top.

9. Oh God. Do NOT take such a ticket lightly
Here's what will happen: Palin and Beck will announce. If a negative story about Beck appears the campaign will call it "the lamestream media discriminating against Christians again." Palin's also a woman (or so I've heard), so they'll play that card too. By the time they're done, we'll have the first president we know absolutely nothing about.

It won't take long for the voters to figure them out, though; Beck and Palin make Mullah Omar look soft and squishy.

These people are too scary. It would be better if the Republicans ran bland-but-creepy Romney.

35. Romney's bland and creepy,
and he'll never get elected because he's going straight to hell, but he's also the most competent person over there. He would make a pretty good president--better than Reagan or either of the Bushes--but he'll never get the chance because teabaggers think Mormons are worse than useless. (Which makes me wonder how fast Glenn Beck's star is going to fall, now that we know he's LDS.)

16. that would be way too early for a serious candidate, but a brilliant date for scammers
who are mainly looking to milk the process/limelight for all it's worth, with nothing to loose.

we all know that in times of severe strain, anything is possible... and after bush, who could seriously rule out a Palin/Beck or Beck/Palin (actually that would make for a lively discussion all by itself) ticket having a real shot?

just another sign of the twisted times we are all living through, and so it goes...

18. Unelectable in any universe...BUT...
If they could get themselves onto enough state ballots as a third party or TEA party candidate pairing it might siphon off enough votes from the Republicans to ensure a Democratic victory in 2012...kind of like karmic payback for 2000 (re: Nader).

Those two won't be running for anything ever - waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much of that sweet, sweet lucre laying around waiting to be snatched up and stashed away. Money and fame are two drugs that neither one of them will ever be able to kick now...

22. The scary thing is that they MIGHT possibly win
In a rational world, they wouldn't stand an snowball's chance in hell. But we know that this isn't exactly a rational world. Add to that tremendously high unemployment, concerns over immigration, and overall angst, you have a perfect breeding ground for hatemongers. As another poster pointed out, George W Bush won twice - albeit with some help both times, but who's to say that wouldn't happen again? I don't think it will happen, I hope to hell it doesn't happen - but I wouldn't be totally surprised if it did happen.

See a pattern? OMG it's fate, it's a divine coincidence! God wants BecKKK to be doing this. It's so transparent and yet too many sheeple fall for it.

I seriously don't see the repubs nominating her, and an independent run = Nader.2.

Stop worrying (unless you're a Tina Fey fan).
