Jesse Jackson's car stolen in Detroit

( snip )

Several Detroit media outlets reported thieves stole Jackson’s ride — a 2009 Cadillac Escalade — from a parking lot near the city’s Doubletree Hotel.

The SUV was later recovered, but it was found without its rims and one of its windows had been broken, according to Detroit’s WXYZ-TV.

He comes to Detroit to help the city, to bring attention to the unemployment situation, and this is how he is repaid?

Sigh!!!!!

1. Then he accomplished his mission.
I'm sure he did help who ever stole his rims. They're probably out eating Chinese at this very moment.

4. I doubt whoever stole it even knew who Jesse Jackson is
Reminds me of the guy who beat up Rosa Parks.

8. Detroit: The Suicidal City?
We are the joke, the scorn, and/or the point of pity for the entire planet!

I want to see my hometown not only survive, but thrive! Sadly, it seems like I am one of the only ones!

And crap like this does not help! Why invest in a city if the only result is that whatever you are investing in will be damaged, burned, or stolen?

9. Detroit is circling the drain
"I want to see my hometown not only survive, but thrive! Sadly, it seems like I am one of the only ones!"
I want it to thrive. But I'm not going to lie to myself that it is doing anything but spiraling into chaos.

10. Detroit's just ahead of the curve
and the Escalade is one of the most stolen cars everywhere.

Don't give up hope, friend. I think we all need to rethink the nature and intent of our investments, whatever type of investments they are. But we mustn't let things like this story discourage us...even if they might be symbolic of the greater problems we all face.
