GOP senator predicts Gonzales will quit
Edited on Thu May-17-07 10:31 AM by EV_Ares
Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is under new political heat after two more Republicans came out against him and Democrats broadened their probe of prosecutor firings to questions of whether he politicized the Justice Department at the White House's behest.

Question: How many appointees has Bush made that have been proven to be incompetent, corrupt and have had to resign since he has been in office. This just goes to show the incompetency of our president as well or his disdain for our government and the positions of power in government including his latest appointment of the guy who financed the Swift Boat Ads and has been given a position as ambassador to France as a reward for his donations to Bush and his Swift Boat ad campaign against Kerry.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee predicted Thursday that the probe of firings of federal prosecutors would lead to the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. The Justice Department, according to veteran Sen. Arlen Specter, can't properly protect the nation from terrorism or oversee President Bush's no-warrant eavesdropping program with Gonzales at the helm.

"I have a sense that when we finish our investigation, we may have the conclusion of the tenure of the attorney general," Specter, R-Pa., said during a committee hearing. "I think when our investigation is concluded, it'll be clear even to the attorney general and the president that we're looking at a dysfunctional department which is vital to the national welfare."

His comment echoed new criticism of the attorney general this week. Former deputy attorney general James Comey testified that Gonzales tried to get his predecessor as attorney general, John Ashcroft, to approve Bush's eavesdropping program as Ashcroft lay in intensive care.

2. But ...but...Clinton survived!
Seriously, they don't see the difference between trumped-up charges and real ones. They saw that Clinton weathered the storm by NOT resigning, which they thought he would. Gonzales was actually telling people he thought he'd made it through.

Make their lives a living hell. I want to see those men twitch from nervous spasms caused by the stress.
