Drudge Retort (not the Democrat-bashing Drudge Re
Port) I find the story of Dr. Nicola Riley, who Maryland has ordered to stop performing abortions after an 18-year-old woman undergoing an abortion was injured last month.
Additional reports:
"
Teen In Critical Condition After Botched Abortion" (WJZ-TV): Reports that abortion clinic owner Dr. Steven Brigham is also suspended and had no medical license in Maryland to begin with. Lt. Matthew Donnelly of the Elkton Police stated that the police seized a freezer allegedly containing 35 fetuses near "full term". Dr. Riley is a resident of Utah who only recently got her Maryland medical license.
"
Doctor's four-state abortion business under investigation" (Philadelphia Inquirer): Exposes Dr. Brigham's unethical practices of driving injured patients personally to hospital rather than calling ambulance. Brigham also owed near $230,000 in federal tax liens for failing to pay payroll taxes from 2002-2006. What happened to the injured woman: "Riley gave the patient anesthesia under Brigham's direction and began the surgery, but cut through the patient's uterus into the bowel and vagina."
Well, I guess this is one of the stories that enables the anti-abortionists: "See? I told you that abortion harms women and is murder!" Speaking of which, I spotted a poster for a "40 Days for Life" event at a local bus stop.

I'd say that pro-life activists need to get a life themselves (hee hee) and consider that both abortion and the criminalization thereof have risks of harm to women.
