E.J. Dionne, one of the few talking heads to make any sense this morning...
It seemed to me that the Republican guests could not wait to talk about extending the Bush taxcuts. E.J. Dionne was the only guest that I saw that made any political sense. Obama needs to do something to draw a stark difference between the parties. Dionne thought the Bush taxcuts was the place for Obama to take a stand. No, we will not extend the taxcuts for the millionaires. I agree with him.

That would do more to invigorate his base and to discourage the Republicans than anything else he could do. Unfortunately, the Democrats do not instill a lot of confidence. They are mostly a bunch of cowards. If the Democrats were to go along with the Republicans and agree to extend the taxcuts, the President could veto it. That would save the House and the Senate for the Democrats and give the Republicans diarrhea.

This is the only issue the Republicans are concerned about. Defeat them on this issue and you stand a much better chance of maintaining control of the House and Senate.

1. Agree on your entire post.
Especially the comment about EJ. I only watched because of him and he was right on, as usual.

4. I saw that this morning
and I keep wondering where the advocates of letting the Bush tax cuts expire are. People who have been sapped by this economy aren't going to pay terribly much, but the upper middle class and well-off can probabaly afford them. Those voters aren't our base, anyway.
