What did you do to help elect Democrats today? Here's what I did:
1) Small donations to four Dem organizations.
2) Email networked in opposition to the TeaBagger running for Gov. in Maine.
3) Lit dropped for two local candidates.
4) Displayed lawn sign for one local candidate.

I've been doing all this and more quite regularly for about two months now. Later in the fall there will be door to door face to face canvassing and phone banking.

All politics is local. It is about lots of people all doing a little. The TeaPukes can't be allowed to win. In many places you can phone bank from home, or drop by an office and give an hour. Lit drop. Network friends and family, neighbors and co-workers. Facebook and email. Write letters to the editor. Donate, even five bucks. Do something. Thanks.

3. They get my vote... but not my help.
Sorry, enough is enough... if they want my money and my help they are going to have to do a better job.

6. That's good. That's doing it, taking action. Myself, I felt lucky
that I was able to get out and ride my bicycle.

7. I got 10 pledges to vote for our Democratic governor in the Nov election
And talked to a few more folks who weren't ready to commit yet. This was at a barbecue with people who I knew from my old church.

10. Awesome
Everybody needs to get out and do what you are doing. Just signed up to volunteer for my local candidate and did some phone-banking for Organizing for America a few weeks ago. But I still feel like its not enough. Seeing that so many liberals are unmotivated, it makes me feel a million times more enthusiastic. Everyone on this site should be out doing as much as they can as often as they can.

11. Great!

The Dems are not perfect, but the alternative is a nightmare. So a thumbs up to you and everyone fighting this nightmare.

And: If the Democrats get stronger, win more elections, they'll dare to move leftwards, just like the Rethugs' many victories moved them rightwards.
