CBS Politicial Pundits- "Analysts: White House Panicking Over Elections" - Go Right Dems! Go Right!
Edited on Sun Sep-05-10 11:46 PM by TomCADem
Democrats must run away from liberals and the left to win! Don't mention you are a Democrat because your base lacks enthusiam. Thus, you must run to the middle!!! Of course, some on the "left" will adopt these exact same corporate media talking points, and say that Democrats should run to the left! Regardless, the fact remains that left and right alike are now just repeating and reiterating the corporate media's two year narrative.

You can't fight the corporate narrative, so submit. Abandon Democrats, President Obama, and blame them for the fact that you are buying into this corporate narrative, because the corporate media wants you to believe this tripe. Yes, in fact, lets blame Rahm Emanual and Timothy Geithner for the propaganda, er, analysis below.

If you repeat the Big Lie again, again, and again, even liberals will begin to accept it as truth.

With many polls indicating the Republicans may win back control of the House of Representatives (and possibly the Senate as well) in the upcoming mid-term elections, Jim VandeHei, the executive editor of Politico, told CBS' "Face the Nation" that the Obama administration is in a horrible position.

"Does the White House understand this?" asked guest host Harry Smith. "Do you feel any sense of panic or concern" on the part of the administration?

"They get it. There's panic. There's concern," VandeHei said. "The reality for this administration stinks, politically and practically, when it comes to the economy. You're not going to be able to change that 9.6-percent unemployment figure. You can't get anything from Congress in the next couple of months."

CBS Congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes said the Democrats are distancing themselves from President Obama.

1. Doesn't that just sound like most of the media around election time?
Not that they're much better any other time.

2. Yep, The Pundits Have Been On 24/7 Replay Mode For The Past Two Years
On top of that, the Chamber of Commerce and Fox News are now being even less subtle about their efforts to elect Republicans.

6. If I were and Independent and heard these people essentially
dissing their party, I would wonder what kind of party
is this. They cannot even get along with each other.
How can they lead.

Sounds so hypocritical. If the Democrats should hold on,
Nancy will be leader and Obama will be president. Are
these people just distancing to win a vote. Nancy has
been an effective leader. She effectively got every piece
of Legislation Obama wanted passed. The senate was the problem.

People respect those who stand up for what they believe.
even if they do not agree with you.

Democrats are good at circular firing squads.

7. no, you are wrong on the math
at least it depends on the district. Here in my CD, our incumbent Democrat lost by 152,537 (Jenkins) to 138,019 (Boyda). Now I do not have the numbers but I remember that McCain did better than Jenkins and that Obama did worse than Boyda, although the reverse was true in my own county where Obama got 12,749 and Boyda got 12,504. However, McCain got 16,387 and Jenkins only got 15,124. The difference mostly due to the 1,255 people who voted either reform or libertarian in the congressional election in my county.

The obvious fact is that you cannot win that clear majority of McCain voters by embracing Obama. Especially not now that Obama is much less popular than he was on election day. You do not go around dissing Obama in speeches, but you do not go around praising him either. You need to remind voters that 1) I am not a rubber stamp for Obama and 2) I represent you in this district and not the voters in Nancy Pelosi's district or Bernie Sanders district. As a candidate I would try to do two things - a) tell the voters that I share many of their values and b) try to get people who share my values to get out and vote if they are not already registered and active.

8. Get your head straight on the trade deficit
Neither party is doing anything to address this issue. It is bleeding our country dry. We use our Navy to protect the sea lanes so that Wal-Mart can bring over massive cargo ships from China. One way for one of these huge ships is four days. They bring over 15,000 TEUs with each trip. A TEU is 20 ft long. Think of a railroad car or a Class 8 truck and how much it can hold. These burn bunker fuel (the nastiest stuff you can burn for fuel) and they go back to China empty (unless they are carrying materials for recycling like cardboard).

11. The media is attempting to influence the election, and they are not even trying to hide it
There is over a month before the election.

I would encourage everyone to get out and vote.

I would encourage everyone to take at least one other person to vote with them.

13. Way for Dems to win is to MAKE the base ENTHUSIASTIC with progressive leadership.
But to do that they will increase the flood of corporate money going into Republican coffers.
