A Model already exists for the Republican economic ideal - the Illegal Drug Industry |
|
What will the nation look like when the Republicans have had their way? Eliminate worker protections, get your products from the least expensive sources, eliminate taxes, throw any concern for the good of the consumer out the window, and allow swift flow of business proceeds to go right to the top and you have the Republican economic model.
And this model works, you can see it today, and you can also see its effects on society. What the Republicans crave exists today in the Illegal Drug industry. There are no protections for the workers, the raw materials of the drugs come from the poorest countries on earth, the industry is not taxed, the consumer is worse off for having used the product, and the drug lords hold unimaginable wealth.
The would have every industry in our country run exactly the same way international heroin production, distribution, sales, and profits operate. That is our future under Republican control.

5. most drugs consumed in the USA come from the US |
|
marijuana is the most commonly used illegal drug and nearly three quarters of what is consumed here in the USA is grown here in the USA, we are the worlds number 1 producer of cannabis, also most of the meth consumed in the usa is made right here as is most of the MDMA, LSD and as are most of the magis mushrooms used in the usa, only a minority of the drugs used each day are imported and most of that is the marijuana which is not grown in the usa, followed by imported cocaine and heroin.
the consumer may be worse off from some of these drugs but I really think I am no worse off from the occasional mushrooms, lsd, or mdma I take or from the grass I smoke (my doctor even says i have lungs that look like those of a non smoke in xrays) also most drug users dont but the cheapest gear they can get they buy the best and are willing to pay more for it (dont forget that most illegal drug users are not addicts, they are people who smoke cannabis a couple of days a week).
In the suburbus of chicago drug lords have less and less profits off of cannabis as more and more people grow a few or 10 pounds a year to keep from losing their homes, cannabis used to be large plantations and imports now it is lots of small mom and pop producers (which is harder to stop) i know this as i have friends and family who work in the illegal cannabis industry in 2 different states in the USA and have done so for between 10 and 45 years.
most illegal drug trade is weed, most of that is not controlled by gangs, most of it just involves small growers who rarely if ever get busted so you may hear about a large bust of imports more than you hear about a small local bust but i have not even been able to find imported weed in my circle of friends for quite some time, in states like california most people prefer smoking US grown and know the name of their weed and roughly from where in the state it comes from.
