Let law enforcement know that (in the event they were tempted to turn to other crime and ignore these incidents) we will not let do so.
Just think at what might have been prevented if we'd managed to catch Dahmer in the act of his animal cruelty (or Bush*)

I'm not in favor of the publicizing of identities, which seems to be driven more by maliciousness and has too much potential to escalate the situation (not too mention the potential for mistakes and deliberate misinformation)...
