I had to call Citi Bank the other day with a question

My last call a few months ago went way out of the country. This time the voice said Citi Bank, this call answered in Missouri.

Things are changing slowly.

2. Customer Service work was NEVER a high paying job! I'm glad to hear that at least ONE business is
listening to all the comlaints vrom all customers across the country who are really tired of havig to say pardon me, please repeat that, & I can't understand you!

I know when I bought my last computer, my first considration was product reputation, but my SECOND REQUIREMENT was that the co. provided online chat with their hel desk I gave up on trying to find a co. that employed Americans to speak to, bu at least I can understand a typed message v/s trying to understad someones english with such a heavy accent they were nearly if not completely uninteligible.

7. I do...
I just don't buy in to the "altruism" or "customer service-first" spin that many companies will put on it.

9. I don't care what they say about why they're doing it, I only care that they are bringing jobs home
Really and truly, that is good news. There was a time when jobs like that went to a couple of Midwestern states, to rural areas where farm wives would typically take them on because of the steady wage/supplemental income to their families' earnings from the farm. The wages were okay for the region. Then they were gone.

Those may not be the best jobs in the world with the greatest career trajectory, but they are jobs that Americans WILL do.

3. Whoa
Is this their new policy? All calls answered in the US? Or was this just a fluke?

5. Happened to me too- on Saturday- she was in North Carolina
I was very surprised and she was well trained and did an excellent job in calming me down about my concern that I misplaced my card or left it in my office.

6. Have you thought maybe they are renaming towns in India?
I heard of manufacturers having products made in 'Usa' a city in Indonesia I believe. Of course they labeled everything as 'Made in the USA', but not the real USA. Corporations are always looking for ways to deceive the consumer.

I'm glad you received good customer service but maybe there's a place near Bangladesh named North Carolina. :). One time I called customer service and I was transferred to five different people in five different countries. I had to reexplain my problem each time I got a new person on the phone. I'm glad some people get lucky.

11. Made in must declare the country not city by law

Phone calls are FTC. I learned those rules when I was a phone sales rep years ago. It was Missouri.

10. So instead of lying about their names to sound like Americans, they're now
also lying about where they are? How inspiring. Seriously if these foreign call centers who tell the CSs to sound as "American" as possible with fake American sounding names, and that was after everyone was complaining about not being able to understand people at the call center. So now we have uproars over call centers not being in the USA, and gee magically now the CSs are in the USA?

OmahaSteve, you've never struck me as naive before, I'm surprised you're falling for this. Perhaps you are right and it is really in Missouri, but I seriously doubt it and I think you've been had.

12. I don't care where their customer sevice is located - the last card offer I got from Citi
had a rate of 24.9%, and they can shove that where the sun don't shine.
