I haven't been to a movie in years.
But, once the fundies start tearing them apart, the current releases sound like FUN!

1. And here I was all set to disagree with you, but then...

MACHETE Content: (what the ratings mean)
(HHH, CoCoCo, PCPCPC, AbAbAb, APAPAP, AcapAcapAcap, FeFeFe, LLL, VVV, SSS, NNN, AA, DDD, MMM) Evil, rotten, disgusting, humanist, nihilistic, Communist, politically correct, pro-revolution, pro-illegal immigration worldview with extreme Anti-Christian blasphemy and sacrilege (including a corrupt priest), racist elements, anti-white elements, anti-American, and anti-capitalist content, radical feminist elements, overt discussion of incest, and other anti-family content; 68 obscenities and 17 profanities; ultra-graphic, gory, very bloody, snuff extreme, constant violence such as gruesome decapitations, limbs severed, eye shot out, numerous gun battles, woman dresses as nun and mows down people with machine gun, man disemboweled and intestines used to rappel off building, priest nailed to a cross, torture, electrocution, etc.; extreme sex includes group sex, exhibitionism, and overt discussion of incest; extreme nudity includes full frontal female nudity; alcohol use and drunkenness; smoking cigarettes, marijuana use and selling drugs; and, very strong miscellaneous immorality includes lying, cheating, kickbacks, blackmail, betrayal, manipulation, corruption, greed, envy, reverse racism rationalized, and revenge.

unquote.

anti-capitalist content? I think you're right. As much as current movies generally suck, the chance to see something that is at once "humanist", and at the same time "nihilist", might be fun. Strike that: it must be fun, unless Movieguide is just leading me on with a lot of hooey.

3. LOL. And racist elements are different from anti-white elements? Crucifixion is
unacceptable?

"corrupt priest"? Only in the movies, folks!

"reverse racism rationalized" is one of the more confusing things I've read today.

"very strong miscellaneous immorality"?

"Man disembowled and intestines used to rappel off building" must have even made the fundie commentator smirk as he wrote it.

4. I too enjoy going to movies
lately what's bugging me though is the increasing bad manners among moviegoers, of all ages - I especially detest those who even check their damn cell phones - that bright light can be seen throughout the entire theater

15. Psh. Get some real entertainment!
Per that website (which I feel so dirty even having looked at)...

Hopefully, MACHETE will fail at the box office. If moviegoers want a real Hispanic superhero, they should screen some Zorro movies. Or, get Disney’s wonderful TV series on Zorro featuring the dashing Guy Williams.

Guy Williams was Hispanic? I did not realize.

18. HAHAHAH assholes liviing in glass houses
MACHETE is full of gruesome, despicable, extremely bloody violence, graphic nudity, extreme sex, racism, and Anti-American content. Also, the Communist revolutionaries are the heroes. Except for Danny Trejo, who plays Machete, the movie is poorly acted and directed. The director says he wanted to make a Hispanic superhero, but the backlash against this movie should be intense, and a superhero should not be the first one to kill and decapitate. MACHETE is a hateful, racist, offensive diatribe.

But war against Brown people is OK!

23. When I was a kid, we get the "long island catholic"
We never went to church. (I still don't know how they knew who we were LOL)

Anyway, they would have a movie review column. And any film with the review of "condemned" we would go and see.

They have become politically correct as of late, condemned has changed to "morally objectionable". Doesn't quite roll off the tongue as easy as condemned. ;)

27. I love the capsule description of Avatar:

http://www.movieguide.org/box-office/6/10075-avatar

AVATAR is a visually stunning, but slow, shallow and abhorrent, science fiction adventure pitting evil human capitalists against heroic, spiritually sensitive aliens on the planet Pandora, who worship a false diety and nature. Too graphically intense for children, AVATAR has an abhorrent New Age, pagan, anti-capitalist worldview that promotes goddess worship and the destruction of the human race.
