Hope against fear...
As many of the dim illuminati of the right keep repeating in various variation, hows that hopey changey stuff working out for you.
They fear hope because they have none.
They fear change because they like the way things, truth be told, never were.
They want to always return to some golden age that exists in the minds of the masses but is a reality for only the wealthiest among us.
They embrace fear because it is easy to incite fear when the present looks bleak.
They look to divide us, to set up waring camps in the country just so they can govern for the few at the expense of the many.
When democrats speak of hope they speak of a rising tide that raises all boats not about limiting access to the harbor.
I think the question we should all ask our right wing friends, the foot soldiers of the right, what are they so afraid of, we can get to the root of their fears and wield hope as a way to combat.
In my lifetime I have seen the fear inspired decent of America as cynical republican, one after another, promote a divide and conquer approach to everything that revolves around power.
Toss in the wretched idea of trickling down, which denotes a country relying on the benevolence of the uber upper class, the ultimate nanny state, in my humble opinion, and you have a population reduced to groveling with the powerful few for scraps from their very bountiful table.
We will never wrench away the most wretched Koreshian from their royalistic cult but we can turn off a few from this path.
But to do that we must campaign, tout the good, focus on an American future that is not dependent on some shining city on the hill but is grounded in the reality of life.

3. Excellent! We all need to unite collectively than stand divided. United we can |
|
move in a greater and better direction for the US than feed the greed machine. We out number them if united, we far out number them, and we could vote out the bad ones. We need a recognized vehicle to unite us, maybe DU, maybe Moveon.org, but some means as almost a clearing house to unite us for voting in block in large numbers.
