My Father was very ill, almost died and my Mother did die.

This does make one think about life in general.

We had the oil mess in the gulf, still there.

Just to much illness and death for me.

Then just a few days ago one of young cows gave birth to heifer.

I just started to raise cattle so this little one is special.

Life goes on.

I am looking forward this new part of my life, something I have really wanted to do.

My Aunt is not getting any younger so I will be taking over the farm a lot more.

She still is in great shape but I need to help out more.

I am looking forward to this.

In a few years I can take early retirement and maybe make a living off the farm.

I really want this.

Yes, life goes on.

1. Life does go on, my dear texanwitch...
And your beautiful, moving post is proof of that.

I hope you get to do just what you want.

It sounds very fulfilling and worthwhile.

Recommended.

3. There does come a time where you need to make a change, even slowly.
I still can't give up my day job but in 5 years I can take early SS.

I want to spent what is left of my life doing what I want.

2. it does indeed go on, texanwitch
all we can do about our tragedies is learn from them and hope they make us better people. And time, while it does not heal all wounds, certainly does help. :)

4. My mother spent so many years of her life being angry instead of moving on.
I have been thinking about this new venture for a long time.

Now is the time to start.

7. I grew up on the farm, well most of the time.
People need to eat, good food not factory food.

I am planning on going organic, like my Grandparents did.

I have land of my own as well, so yeah I going for it.

5. Yes it does, darlin'...
HI:hi:

The little one year old baby boy we held to raise when
those you could have.. didn't...is almost eight years old.

We have plans, sometimes, that don't include him...and that is fine.
We are learning to let go so his dad can learn to hold on tighter.

10. I find a peace on my Aunt's farm that I can't in the city.
Wish I could move there tomorrow but will have to do it in stages.
