Do all of the Bush tax increases begin in 2011? |
|
These tax increases that I hear are coming, the ones that President Bush signed into law, do they all take place in 2011 or are they spread out?

1. It's tax cuts that are scheduled to expire because it was the only way the cuts were passed |

2. The Bush tax cuts expire in 2011. |
|
The Republicons forced the tax cuts through by reconciliation, which means by law they can't last more than ten years because they increased the deficit.
The M$M is framing this as a tax increase, when in fact it was part of the original plan by the GOP, and by law must expire unless Congress votes to extend them longer.
They aren't really tax increases, they are the legislated termination of the Bush tax cuts, and the GOP is hoping people are going to refer to it as a tax increase when it really isn't.
