Hickenlooper Headed for Landslide Win

A new Public Opinion Strategies/FMMMA poll in Colorado shows the gubernatorial race "appears to be a foregone conclusion, barring a fundamental shift in the race dynamics."

John Hickenlooper (D) leads with 48%, followed by just 25% for Dan Maes (R) and 15% for Tom Tancredo (I).

"Whether Tancredo is siphoning off GOP support that could have been available, or whether Maes' self-inflicted wounds have boosted Tancredo's support is open to interpretation. However, the former Congressman's presence on the ballot and Maes' continued problems appear to have all but sealed Democratic retention of the Governor's mansion."

6. Poll: Bennet With Narrow Lead Over Buck In CO-SEN
Poll: Bennet With Narrow Lead Over Buck In CO-SEN
Evan McMorris-Santoro | September 7, 2010, 5:28PM

Democratic incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet is leading tea party favorite and gaffetastic Republican nominee Ken Buck in the Colorado Senate race, according to a new poll out today.

The survey of 751 likely voters by Democratic pollster FM3 and Republican pollster Public Opinion Strategies shows Bennet leading Buck 43-40. The pollsters describe the race as a "dead heat" and note that "a Libertarian candidate garners 5% of the vote - greater than the margin between the two major party candidates."

Indeed, past polling of the race has shown the race to be very, very close. The TPM Poll Average shows Buck ahead 46.0-42.8, which is basically too close to call this far from election day.

2. But...but...but...THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!
Edited on Tue Sep-07-10 04:34 PM by PCIntern
All the folk on FOX, CNN, and MSNBC said that the Republicans would win 435 House seats, all the Senate Seats, and all the Governorships...didn't they?

8. My thoughts exactly
Listening to the talking chuckleheads, approximately five people across the nation are poised to vote for a Democrat, and they're being monitored closer than any preemie in NICU because they're apparently such a rare sighting. How can a Democrat be leading any race for anything?! It's unheard of!

11. Right now, the Rethugs
are trying to convince Maes to drop out, and they can put Tancredo up as their nominee. It's the only chance they've got of winning, and since Maes has some campaign law violations, they might be able to convince him to drop out.

12. Far too late for that. Deadline was last Friday
so they're suing each other to oblivion. Let them waste money pissing on each other.

Hick will win this, easily.

14. I agree, we won't lose it all in November,
Hickenlooper seems to have been a very popular figure in Colorado. And I hope to make it there during his governorship to the Great American Beer Festival!

15. Speaking of polls, here's something kind of odd
Remember last week's generic Gallup poll? The one that showed Republicans at +10 over Democrats? BIG muthahfuckin' story last week. You know what it shows this week? No, guess:

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2010/9/7/899909/-Gallup-poll-shock!

I'm sure we'll see the follow-up coverage just any second now. Right?
