DELRAY BEACH — Democratic governor candidate Alex Sink, visiting a roofing business here to promote alternative energy, broke with President Obama and many in her party today by calling for an extension of all the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts signed by former President George W. Bush.

"I support the extension of the Bush tax cuts because to let them expire is going to hurt our ability to get people back to work," Sink said.

Sink's weigh-in on federal policy comes on the same day she tried to steer the debate in the governor's race away from Republican rival Rick Scott's focus on President Obama and national issues.

"Unfortunately, Rick Scott seems to think running for governor is all about President Obama," Sink says in a new TV ad released today. "While Rick Scott's focused on Obama, I'm focused on creating jobs."

She's running for Governor, not the Senate, but still.....

We can't extend the tax cuts and still do anything DIFFERENTLY than Republicans. And she's given them a great soundbite to use against Dems all over the country this fall.

5. This is what happens when we listen to the people who say "it's enough to elect

someone who SAYS they're 'a Democrat'".

Sink should just cross over to the GOP and be done with it. She can't back keeping the tax cuts for the rich in place and still have any non-conservative views.
