Cute kids available to boost candidates

Candidates at last week's Republican state convention at the Breslin Center in East Lansing went onstage with their spouses and kids to wave to the crowd at the end of a boisterous demonstration.

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson commented to the crowd on state Sen. Mike Bishop's three cute kids: "If I'm a candidate, I want to rent those kids," he said.

Apparently, kids were available for loan.

State Sen. Cameron Brown, R-Sturgis, and his wife, Helen, were handed a cute, chubby baby and darling blond-haired girl wearing Brown for Secretary of State T-shirts when they came onstage.

The loaner kids belonged to a staffer and a volunteer. As the Browns left the stage, the little girl was briefly left behind.

The scene won't be repeated this fall. Brown lost.

1. Sociopaths have no problem with using children as human props

so it's hardly surprising that Brown would disregard his 'loaner' child as casually as a candy wrapper after he'd wrung every drop of political advantage there was to be gained.
