GALVESTON — An Arkansas man accused of burning his 2-month-old daughter's face by putting her in a microwave oven was indicted Wednesday on a charge of felony injury to a child.

A Galveston County Grand Jury indicted Joshua Royce Mauldin, 19, on one count carrying a maximum sentence of five to 99 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000. Mauldin, who police said claimed he was sent by God to be a preacher in Galveston, remained in jail late Wednesday on $250,000 bail.

The internal damage from microwave exposure can take a while to show up.

Before this was understood, some of the first guys to man radar stations in WWII complained of feeling sick a few days later. They died shortly thereafter, and it turned out they had basically been stewed on the inside.

I'm not saying this to be grisly--just informing all of the possible effects of our military/police's next generation of "crowd control" device...
