'Cuz I'm going to go out on a limb and guess they're not made in this country. Made-in-USA athletic shoes are basically impossible to come by (that goes for the coveted New Balance everyone likes to rattle off as well-they are now almost exclusively made in China).

I am obsessive about finding products still manufactured in this country and yet I still end up forced to buy Chinese crap more often than I like. Shoes are what frustrates me the most.

Michelle spends a lot of money supporting American clothing designers, so I'm hardly going to sweat her for wearing foreign-made sneakers when virtually all are.

Bottom line is that she's not responsible for what Republicans and some Democrats have done to manufacturing in this country.

I've not worn any of them yet, but here they are. Shoes from up the road. Sent a link to the WH this morning. Not that I'd snark on Michelle's sneakers, for crying out loud. But I bet she's dig these Soft Stars too. You might as well.
Just for kicks (see the pun?) let me say that when it comes to activity like sports or dance, we all get to pick our shoes for safety, excellence and comfort. It is one thing to try to buy American, it is another to twist an ankle from wearing the wrong shoes. For that sort of thing, when I did it, the shoe was often a shoe I hated style wise, brand wise, but it did the job I needed it to do. I say there is a shoe exception, for sports and for dance. Got to have the right tools. Got to. Feet are strange and shoes are random.
