Palin--Quran burning..
Edited on Wed Sep-08-10 06:13 PM by one_voice
she asks the pastor to reconsider, but makes sure to get a dig in about Park51

Sarah Palin added her name Wednesday to a growing list of national politicians asking a Florida pastor to reconsider his plans to burn the Quran on Sept. 11.

"People have a constitutional right to burn a Quran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation — much like building a mosque at ground zero," Palin wrote on Facebook.

*snip*

Palin warned on Wednesday that Jones may further incite tensions with the Muslim world, already sparked from the controversy swirling around a planned mosque near the World Trade Center site in Manhattan.

"I would hope that Pastor Terry Jones and his supporters will consider the ramifications of their planned book-burning event," Palin wrote. "It will feed the fire of caustic rhetoric and appear as nothing more than mean-spirited religious intolerance. Don’t feed that fire. If your ultimate point is to prove that the Christian teachings of mercy, justice, freedom and equality provide the foundation on which our country stands, then your tactic to prove this point is totally counterproductive."

5. Yes,
I doubt she writes much of "anything" herself! She has a hard enough time trying to read what she writes on her hand, let along trying to actually sit down and write something understandable on the internet!

10. My thought too - provocation is too big of a word for her
and I am sure she doesn't know what it means.

2. Sarah, sweetie
I appreciate your asking this right wing moron, Jones, to cool it, but I still fail to understand how building an Islamic community center near Ground Zero is a provocation to any one except American Christian right wing morons.

12. I'm sad she lost the election in 08.
Because Tina Fey would still be on Saturday Night Live. If only for that reason...

13. I knew that was coming sooner or later and it's fucking OUTRAGEOUS
How does the building of an Islamic community center and the exercise of religion that may occur therein equate to BURNING THE HOLY SCRIPTURE of a different religion?

Tell me, Sarah Plain and Dumb, how is one MUCH LIKE the other?
