It's hers to lose: Alex Sink
Edited on Wed Sep-08-10 07:29 PM by The Backlash Cometh
Unfortunately, she's going to have to do better than she did this morning.

The Rick Scott campaign was quick to pick up on an appearance by Alex Sink on MSNBC’s “The Daily Rundown” earlier today — and with good reason. In less than five minutes of questioning by NBC’s Chuck Todd, Sink:

– Stumbled into acknowledging that she favors permanent extension of the Bush tax cuts, putting her at odds with not just President Barack Obama but even many Democratic centrists who say that, at best, the tax cuts should be extended for no more than a year or two to allow time for an economic recovery.

– Couldn’t (or wouldn’t) identify one issue where she differed with Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, with whom she’s served on the Florida Cabinet for nearly four years.

– Couldn’t (or wouldn’t) say how or what her campaign learned from the losing 2002 campaign of her husband, Bill McBride, against Jeb Bush.

I will say one thing: If she's going to go in protecting the status quo, she's not going to be able to beat Scott who will say anything that will get him in office. There is a desire for change in Florida. People know the good ole boy system exists and they want someone who will shake it up, not feed it.

1. What is with all these Dem candidates coming out for extending the tax cuts?
Polls show most folks DO NOT support that. Not to mention that it's a terrible idea anyway.

2. Florida's election process is steep on pleasing the people who donate big
to your campaign. I don't know who is financially supporting her, but I suspect you'll find some group on the list that supports the extensions.

My hunch is that a lot of crooked shit happens in Florida because politicians like to make their rainmakers happy. And if a little ole housewife in Central Florida can figure that out, then one of you sharper reporters better get on the ball and expose the shit.
