This years health insurance cost increases are legal and profitable
Health insurance companies (and employers that provide health insurance to employees) are claiming that the health insurance reform bill is causing these severe increases in health insurance costs.

It is.

The health insurance bill allows insurance companies to profit, and they will do so. Kudos to the White House for asking the health insurance industry to please not blame the bill for huge increases.

2. The City I Work for
received their increase of 15% this year. They blamed the increase on the health bill and this is despite the fact we had a reduction in claims this year.

Our HR director was cussing about Obama's Health Care bill costing us so much and when I asked HOW and where it caused the increases....she couldn't give me specifics. She was just told by the rep that the increase was due to the new Health Care bill.

I may not have training in HR matters but the accountant in me wants to know WHERE and WHY the increases occurred and what caused them.

3. as long as the right wing choose to willfully believe anything anti-Obama
they don't and never will need facts.

They believe that talking points are facts unto themselves and require no explanation.

4. exactly
My agency and NAMI (national alliance for the mentally ill) both supported the reform bill.
We were told by our insurance companies (we offer 3 choices, all three providers said) that the increases were due to the bill.
The how and why are easy - IT IS LEGAL AND PROFITABLE TO DO SO.

5. Failure to prevent and actually causing are tightly linked because we just passed the damn bill
Essentially it is like having crap quality control on a product.

You don't have to be real sharp or knowledgeable to have predicted the gouging and if something is easily predictable but you allow it anyway then don't be surprised if you catch heat.

You aren't guilty but good luck avoiding blame.
