Boxer, Fiorina schedule second debate
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/california-politics/2010/09/boxer-fiorina-set-for-second-debate.html

Sen. Barbara Boxer and her Republican challenger Carly Fiorina will debate for a second time on Sept. 29 in a radio debate hosted by La Opinion and public radio station KPCC.

(snip)
A poll conducted by CNN and Time Magazine during that week found the two candidates still in a dead heat with Boxer leading Fiorina 48% to 44% -- within the poll's margin of error.

The Sept. 29 forum will take place at the KPCC studios in Pasadena and be broadcast live on public radio stations around the state from 1 to 2 p.m. on KPCC’s Patt Morrison program. Morrison and La Opinion's metro editor, Gabriel Lerner, will serve as moderators. The debate will also be streamed live on La Opinion.com and KPCC.org.

2. yup
Boxer needs to score some big punches...

that 4% CNN/Time poll is a RV poll, with Repugmussen showing Fiorina +1% last week, +4% removing the "leaners".

3. I know what they are going to say already.

Boxer:
We have to create jobs! The government has to invest in rebuilding our infrastructure and reduce taxes on small businesses which will create jobs. We need to reward companies who create jobs in this country.

Fiorina:
We have to create jobs! We must help corporations compete in the global market place. We have to reduce regulations and taxes on corporations, that will create jobs. We need to increase the B1 Visa program.

Not it is up to the voter who to believe!

Neither the gov't nor the private sector alone can create jobs and fix the economy.

8. hell... I'm not sure.
I'm not a genius, lol...

I guess combine private sector incentives with fiscal responsibility... with some well thought out gov't regulation.

Look at the national budget, cut where it can be cut and BOY can it be cut. We have plenty of past history to study...

For the last 100 years the US has prospered for mmmmmmm... maybe 80? of those years? Shouldn't be too tough to figure out.

How about changing tax law on savings for $250K+ folks? Save $$ and pay 40% tax but spend $$ on consumer goods and write it off.

How about slashing the Pentagon budget by 50%?

NAFTA reform? Import duty changes? Outsourcing penalties for businesses?

Make that Indian call center cost the same as an Omaha Nebraska call center.

11. I don't agree with taxing savings.

One of the biggest problems we have is debt and no savings for retirement. Saving for the future should be encouraged IMHO.

I think a good thing would be to bring back the consumer interest deduction.

6. That's about the size of it. I found the first debate boring because neither said anything new.
It's all on their campaign Web sites and earlier speeches.

Boxer's edge that will give her the win comes from her incumbency, Democratic party membership, and pro-choice status.
