At this point, the world knows how our gov't and most citizens feel about burning the Koran... |

...so if the whack jobs still want to burn it, let 'em.
Every reasonable-minded person in the Islamic world has seen our President, our Secretary of State, our Attorney General, and our top commander in Afghanistan come out against the Koran burning.
They have seen that most Americans are not sympathetic to burning the Koran.
If the extremists STILL want to use it as an reason to attack US citizens, then they were going to come up with a reason anyway.
At this point, if Obama is asked about it at tomorrow's press conference, this is what I would say if I were him:
"I asked the nutjob to refrain. He's going to do what he's going to do. I can't concern myself with every nutjob pastor in the country. If they break the law, we'll arrest them. Otherwise, nutjobs will be nutjobs. Next question."

2. A lot of these people live in places where if the authorities didn't want this to happen.. |
|
It would not happen, period.
I suspect quite a few are going to think the politicians are just saying they don't want it to happen while their actual position is something else again.
People are seldom completely rational and particularly not when it comes to religion.
