Mark Halperin (wingnut) say Obama should pick a "centrist Republican" for Chief of Staff... |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-10-10 12:31 PM by kentuck
If Rahm leaves. "But he won't", he said.
Someone like David Gergen, I suppose. Nothing like a Republican spy sitting in on every discussion.
However, I do believe the President listens to the advice of the Clintons. I hope he picks a fighting progressive for Chief of Staff.

4. If not Gergen, then maybe Dick Morris? |

Really and no shit: What's the point of winning of a fucking election if the personnel are going to remain the same? I didn't vote Democratic so that David Gergen could slither his way back into the corridors of power, goddammit.

5. That would actually be an improvement over Rahm |

Having said that, I think I prefer a progressive Democrat.

12. The question would be, will the state elect someone more liberal than Nelson... |

or just elect a real Republican.
From my experience, except in unusual wave elections, the majority of the people in any district or state tend to elect someone who they think shares their philosophy. Ben Nelson may be the most liberal Democrat that can be elected there. And I don't think Nelson would want the job.

8. They should break the mold for Rahm and never try to imitate him. |
|
And stress that the current view of centrist is actually leaning about 10 to 20 points to the right. And provide examples of more centrist views such as Grayson.
