1. It would take an act of Congress to change taxation.

2. Why are you blaming Obama for the inaction of the Senate? He's not King, you know.

4. He is the chief executive and head of the Democratic Party while
there is a Democratic majority in both the House and Senate.

If HIS words can't prod them to action, what can?

I've yet to see him say "I want to see a bill come out of congress that will..."

He waits for them to do something; they wait for him to do something; and the only people taking any real action is the opposition.

WTF?

6. Ever heard of the filibuster? It's the Senate that's been holding
everything up, not Obama or even, most of the time, the House.

Each of the Senators considers himself to be on a par with the President, in stature if not precisely in power. He can't order them around and the more he tries, the more they'll resist.

8. Again, he IS the head of the party.
How come LBJ was able to twist arms? How is it that Truman and Roosevelt had the capacity to get the party to do what THEY wanted? Truman integrated the fucking armed forces at a time when half the Dems were from Dixie, but he made it happen.

As head of the party the President can lead his party in congress or drag it behind him - he can say "back me up on this or you will NOT get another term". At his say so, the party can remove appointments, banish legislators to the basement of the legislature building, stop the party funding a Senator's campaign, put up primary opponants to a sitting senator - there's a hundred ways the President can pressure those who will no be cajoled or placated, IF he wants to do it.

When your approach is all carrot and no stick, all you do is set yourself up for blackmail by fucktards like Nelson and Landrieu.

If you need for everyone to like you, in the end NOBODY will like you.

3. Jesu,
Go read about how your government works...not politically, but as structured by the founders and the law. Take a civics class and learn how law is made.
